Vicki focuses on raising money in the UK and communicates with the headteachers and community - always mindful of cultural differences. We want to nurture a gentle empowering partnership. She visits regularly (apart from during Covid) staying for several weeks at the school.

Vicki received an MBE in 2023 for her services empowering girls in Uganda.

Trustee & Educational Consultant

First went to Uganda in 2002 and has been returning ever since.

Fiona is passionate about Education and volunteered as a teacher at St Michael’s in 2002 and fell in love with the school & community.

Fiona works as an Educational Consultant based in Somerset and helps families find the perfect school for their children.

Sue-Lyn’s visit to St Michael’s in 2015 as a volunteer left her wanting to do more for the charity. Initially an ambassador, she was delighted to be invited to be a trustee in 2016.

Trustee & Retired teacher

Mary is a Special Needs specialist and has run workshops with the teachers to encourage that all classroom teaching is Dyslexia Friendly - some teachers have picked a real interest in this specialist teaching.

Trustee & Retired Solicitor

Julian although he has not been out to Uganda helps with compliance and is a wise head on all matters.
