Construction/Infrastructure

We have already funded numerous construction projects - kitchens, medical centres, libraries, classroom blocks, dormitories, toilet blocks, washrooms and accommodation for teachers etc.

We work closely with the school management to identify their urgent needs and priorities.

Local tradespeople prepare written quotations and project/site management is done by the leadership. We do research for specialist trades if needed - eg solar water pump engineers and the construction of a very large open sided Assembly Space that needed to be done by Kampala Structural Engineers. The schools undertake ongoing repairs and maintenance.

With all construction projects we are committed to using local materials and best practice techniques - particularly for the latrines that can now be emptied and are long lasting. We overcome the challenges of working in a remote location with limited electricity and no 3 phase for power tools.

We have funded vital infrastructure projects including fencing and gates for the schools, the installation of a solar water pumping, solar panels for power, solar lighting and the provision of community internet access.
